ARI Solar engineering enters China
ARI Solar awarded with a first engineering contract for commercial CSP plant in China
ARI Solar has been awarded with a first contract in one of the commercial CSP plants under development in China, as a part of the demonstrators program sponsored by the Chinese Government for the next two years. The company will be responsible of providing support for gathering minimum functional requirements and constraints, to define main assumptions and to uncover risks in relation to the technology.
Specifically, ARI Solar will draw up a general description of the project as well as a list of relevant design drivers in relation to main equipment and the performance of the plant. In addition to this, within the framework of this contract ARI Solar will carry out preliminary energy production calculations with the aim to perform plant optimization studies and performance analysis.
The weather in the area is characterized by extreme conditions, with little precipitation, extremely cold winters with average minimum temperatures around -20 ºC and very hot summers.
Until now, China had a number of small pilot CSP plants for R&D purposes, but had not started commercial CSP activities. With this contract, ARI Solar is well positioned in a growing market with a currently approved list of 20 projects, with a total power foresight of 1.35 GW.
